BioAfter almost three years at the local Tokyo community college, Takashi was able to graduate with his associate’s degree in Business (a two year degree). Hoping that his newly acquired business knowledge would help out the family sushi restaurant, Takashi felt proud of his hard work at the junior college, and it seemed there were others that were equally impressed, as he was offered a scholarship to a group of sister schools in Osaka. Thinking only of his family, Takashi was ready to turn the offer down, when his father and mother decided for him. He would go and get a real degree, from any major, and come back ready to take over the family business. Putting up a useless argument, Takashi finally agreed and sent in his application and acceptance of the scholarship grant, feeling excited about the opportunity he was being given.
After a long internal debate, he decided that he would major in Culinary Arts, as he already had a minor in business, which would hopefully make useful when he took over the restaurant. But the thought of transferring from a community college to a respected university was frightening, especially considering that he would be moving to Osaka and into a dorm room. He would no longer be able to help his father in the restaurant, nor help his little sister with her homework, or even do simple errands for his mother. But Takashi would not let anything derail him from his new life path, and he would work hard through his insecurities just like he had done in the past.
